Martin Bøge Mikkelsen

I have extensive experience in strategic and international executive leadership through roles as Chairman, Deputy Chairman, and Board Member. Previously, I also served as Group Executive Vice President and was part of the Group Executive Management of the C25-listed Nordic non-life insurance group Tryg.

My background as a top executive is extensive, and since 2012 I have gained substantial experience in board and committee work in various capacities, whether as Chairman, Deputy Chairman, or Member. I have specialized in owner-driven, private equity-owned, or publicly listed companies across sectors such as Finance, Communication, Damage Control, IT, Manufacturing, Military, FMCG, and SaaS. In addition, I have 10 years of experience as Group Executive Vice President and Executive Vice President at Tryg. Out of Tryg’s 4,500 employees, my area of responsibility comprised 360 staff members, and I managed an annual budget of DKK 1 billion.

I possess a strong business acumen with a commercial mindset. My core competencies include general executive top management, value-based leadership, commercial and business development, strategy, IT, digital transformation, digital business models, M&A, communication, and turnarounds. Besides these competencies, my strongest asset is my extensive professional network.

I am Fit & Proper approved by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority and have previously obtained the same approval in both Germany and Malta.

Since 2012, I have focused on turnarounds, scale-ups, start-ups, profitable growth, and international expansion in small and medium-sized enterprises. During this period, I have successfully completed the sale of seven companies.

Until 2012, I served as Group Executive Vice President and member of the Group Executive Management at Tryg, a C25-listed Nordic non-life insurance group. Within the organization of 4,500 employees, I was responsible for 360 staff and managed an annual budget of DKK 1 billion. My areas of focus included change management, profitable growth, commercial and business development, strategy, IT and digitalization, cost optimization, turnarounds, and operational excellence.
